Art Instructors Wanted:

The Central Iowa Art Association (CIAA)  is seeking area artists who would like to teach in their area of expertise.  We are interested in one time workshops as well as long term classes.  Any of the visual arts will be considered: ceramics, drawing, sculpting, glass work, air brush, paper work, etc. The CIAA provides studio space, such publicity as we are able to generate in the newsletter, on radio, in newspapers, online, etc., and materials the students may need to purchase or use.  Teaching artists will charge their students at a rate to be agreed upon, 25% of which is kept by the CIAA to apply to overhead and expenses. We are flexible about when you teach, class sizes, and age groups.

If you are interested in providing art instruction, please contact the CIAA Director, Rosemary Meling, by phone, mail, or e-mail.

Volunteers Needed:

The Central Iowa Art Association always needs volunteers. We are looking for dependable people willing to come in on a regular basis whether that be once a week or once a month or every day. Volunteers are needed to teach, to help teachers with young childrens' classes, to sell in the shop, and to take on secretary or receptionist duties.

The most important task of the volunteer is to be present in the studio when it is open. This makes it possible for the director to concentrate on long tasks or leave for meetings and know that there is someone in the studio to greet people and take their questions. A volunteer notebook holds all the information the volunteer is likely to need to know to answer questions or take messages. It also makes it possible for teachers to pay full attention to their students and not have to answer the phone or stop to answer questions of  those who drop in. The director is usually in the studio from 8:00 am until 5 pm weekdays and from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturdays.  We don't have much in the way of evening hours yet.

If you are interested, please call, write, or e-mail.
